Jhansi: Two armymen die as tank barrel explodes during field firing exercise

New Delhi, Oct 7: During a field firing practice on Friday in Babina cantonment, the barrel of a T-90 tank exploded, killing two Indian Army servicemen, among them a junior commissioned officer (JCO).

“Two Indian Army personnel including a JCO lost their lives after the barrel of a T-90 tank burst during field firing exercise today in Babina Cantonment near Jhansi,” Indian Army said in a statement.

Further inquiry is being done into the issue. The grieving families of the troops who perished in the disaster received sincere condolences from the Indian Army. According to officials, a court of inquiry has been appointed to look into the occurrence.
