New Delhi, Oct 13: Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is set to step down; Roger Binny is most likely to take over. Speaking at a Bandhan Bank event, Ganguly said on Thursday that he has been an administrator for a long time and is now looking to move on to something else.

“I was president of Cricket Association Bengal for 5 yrs and served as president of BCCI for 3 yrs. After tenure gets over, you’ve to go. You can’t play & remain an administrator forever. It was great seeing both sides of the coin as a player and administrator,” said BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

Roger Binny is almost certainly going to succeed Ganguly as manager. He has already submitted his nomination and is most likely to win without any challengers. Jay Shah will continue to serve as the board’s secretary even though Ganguly is about to step down as BCCI president. As the top brass is rearranged, a few other adjustments to the BCCI are also anticipated. However an official comment on the situation and his expected resignation of Ganguly as BCCI president has not yet been released.
