Hazaribag, Nov 13: Britain’s eminent researcher Dr Fiona Buckee from Cardiff University visited several ancient sites in Chouparan, which is part of their research on Indian temples and its architecture to culture between 5th and 11th Century with her junior Vil Kwetski. Dr Buckee said such Centres can turn into international tourist spots as well as centres of research as well.
Dr Buckee visited Daihar, Hathindar, Sohar and neighbouring Itkhori in Chatra. She further said that this area is a centre for thorough research. “The sculpture and architecture I saw is different from the temples of South. I think it is a mixture art which needs thorough research to unveil its mysteries,” added she.
She further claimed that on an international level, thorough study is going on ancient temples and its architect, she claimed.
She added that so far she had travelled southern India as well as South Asia to carry out her research work on temples. “But here statues and other relics found are different and unique,” she commented.
She promised to visit the place again claiming that this area was best for researchers working on ancient Indian temples. She also stressed on the need to popularsing such spots.
