Hazaribag, Nov 15: The Chhath Talab in midtown looked mesmerising on Monday night amid the light of 11,000 diyas and the sound of Shankh when six priests from Varanasi performed the famous Ganga Maha Aarti on the pond banks.
Among the guests were Hazaribag Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal, Mayor Roshni Tirki, DC Nancy Sahay and SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe.
The entire pond area was decorated with electric bulbs and flowers beside several big size LED screens put at various points to make people get a clear view of the grand aarti.
It was organised by Mayor Roshni Tirki and the director of HZB Arogyam super speciality hospital, Harsh Ajmera.
The priests were of Dashashwamedh Ghat of Varanasi which is famous for its Ganga Maha Aarti. The team comprised of Pandit Nitesh Shashtri, Pandit Dayanand Pandey, Pandit Ujjwal Tiwary, Pandit Shubham Pandey, Pandit Vishal Pandey and Pandit Akshay Pandey.
“It was great to come here and watch six priests of Varanasi performing the maha aarti. We are running short of words to describe this event,” said Kavita Sinha, a housemaker of Okni.
Harsh Ajmera said people who gathered here should take the pledge to save rivers and ponds as well as to keep our environment clean and green. “I will ensure that this program takes place every year,” he added.
