Over 40 vehicles damaged in mega pile-up on Pune-Bengaluru highway

New Delhi, Nov 21: A tanker collided with a number of automobiles at Pune’s Navale bridge, damaging at least 40 of them and injuring several others on Sunday. A 48-vehicle pileup occurred as a result of the highway accident.

According to PTI, it is believed that the tanker’s brakes failed as it was travelling to Pune and crashed with a number of vehicles on the Navale bridge. The significant crash on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route resulted in multiple injuries, although no fatalities were recorded.

The area around the Navale bridge is prone to accidents because of the steep slope of the road and the fast moving traffic. The wrecked cars are being taken off the road.

The event, according to the fire department of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), resulted in minor damage to at least 48 automobiles.
