Ranchi, Dec 5: The Central Board of Secondary Education has provided affiliation to a total of 24 government schools in the state. The schools will have syllabi designed in the CBSE format, while the books will be from NCERT from the upcoming new session in April 2023.

Jharkhand Education Project Council Director Kiran Kumari Pasi in this regard said, “A total of 24 schools of Excellence have been given CBSE affiliation. These include one school in each district. The schools will have their syllabi from the upcoming session set on the CBSE pattern and have NCERT books.”

When questioned about issues regarding untrained Hindi medium teachers, she added, “The teachers in schools are being given training and we are working for their capacity building, as the books will be in both English and Hindi medium.

Notably, the state government has applied for CBSE affiliation in 80 district-level schools. In the first phase, the state government had applied for a total of 24 schools, one from each district, approval for which has been given.

Dr Pasi further said, “Approvals for the remaining 56 schools are still in pipeline. All norms for the said schools required by CBSE have been fulfilled, and the applications for the same have been sent. We are hopeful that the approval will soon be given for the 56 schools. Furthermore, we are also hiring teachers on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalay to work on the shortage of teachers. The schools will also have AICTE labs and other facilities as per the standards of CBSE.”
