Smooth passenger movement observed at Delhi airport today

New Delhi, Dec 14: Following the complaints of overcrowding, long queues and check-in delays by the passengers, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi, on Wednesday informed that smooth passenger movement was observed at all terminal entry gates with an average waiting time of 0-5 minutes.

The Delhi Airport Twitter handle also advised passengers to use the DigiYatra App for a “significantly faster experience at every touch point.” It also had a ‘smart travel tip’ for fliers, asking them to carry only one bag as cabin luggage.

In its update at 11:30 hours. Delhi Airport tweeted, “Low waiting time observed at Terminal 3 with an average waiting time of 0-5 minutes across all 16 entry gates.”

The airport authorities have been sharing hourly updates on the waiting time at the airport, following days of chaos, serpentine queues and angry social media posts slamming the mismanagement at the country’s busiest airport.

Passengers have been complaining on social media about Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) being a mess and overcrowded these days. Several passengers took to social media to complain about the long queues outside the airport and even at the security.

Amid the complaints, Civil Aviation Minister Jyoriraditya Scindia paid a surprise visit to the airport for a check on Monday morning.The minister said the passenger footfall has seen a jump after the lifting of Covid restrictions and assured that better crowd management would be in place soon.
