Jharkhand HC disapproves recruitment rule of JSSC

Ranchi, Dec.16: The Jharkhand High Court disapproved the recruitment rule of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) under which only students who have passed the 10th and 12th examinations from the state’s institute are eligible for participating in the recruitment process.

A three-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan gave the order. With the amendment made in the JSSC, the rule stood cancelled.

A high court lawyer informed the development saying the order has paved the path for participating those candidates in the JSSC recruitment examination who have done their matriculation and intermediate from outside the state.

Earlier, the court had reserved its judgment in the matter after hearing arguments and arguments from all the parties.

Ramesh Hansda had filed a petition challenging the amendment made in the JSSC rules. He had demanded its cancellation. Through his petition, he submitted that the rule will debar many deserving candidates to participate in the recruitment examination.

He has pointed out the loopholes saying rule Hindi and English have also been removed from the language paper while Urdu, Bangla and Oriya languages have been included. Due to these conditions, many candidates are not able to apply in the advertisement issued by JSSC for appointments, so this rule should be cancelled.
