Increasing participation of women in police is example of women empowerment, says Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, Dec 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that the increasing participation of women in the police force is an example of women empowerment in Jharkhand. 

While addressing the passing out parade ceremony of India Reserve Battalion-10 (IRB) at Zap-8 Corps Complex in Lesliganj, Palamu, he said that there are 182 women constables out of 554 trainee constables whereas, out of 764 trainees who successfully underwent training at the Constable Training Center at Musabani, 260 are women. 

“In this way, 442 women trainee constables in both the training centres are a symbol of the fact that women are now fully ready to walk shoulder to shoulder with men,” the CM said.

The Chief Minister said that every day new challenges are coming in new forms. In such a situation, use the training you have received here to deal with these challenges. 

“You should not limit your training, expand its scope and strengthen the competencies that you have acquired throughout the training period so that you can successfully discharge your responsibilities,” he added.

While addressing the jawans, The CM said that the training they have received here now takes the same training in normal life. 

“While discharging your responsibilities, you should make yourself known among the common people and win their trust. This will make it easier for you to solve problems and challenges,” he added.

Principal Secretary/Home Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka wished and encouraged the jawans for a bright future. He said that the jawans should stand in the front line with their responsibility to follow and comply with the law and rules. 

“Jawans have been made efficient for all tasks by training so that they will act fast with time and circumstances,” Ekka said.

He added that people belonging to the weak, tribal, Dalit and backward sections of the society should be ahead for cooperation and help. He said that the colour of the uniform should be such that people get cooperation and their spirits remain high.

The Inspector General of Police Neeraj Sinha said that due to COVID-19 infection, there was a disruption in the training of jawans, but now they are joining the Jharkhand Police force with full promptness. 

Informing about the training centre, he said that this corps has been built on 34.50 acres. In this corps, the work of imparting training to the jawans of the first session from the year 2012 and the second session in 2012-13 and the third session in 2017-18, apart from the basic training of the constables who have completed 10 years of service of JAP/IRB cadre till 2018-19. 

Moreover, SPC training was given to those who are today discharging their duties in various districts, units and corps of the state.

The Chief Minister rewarded the young players of Palamu by providing sports material as an incentive under community policing. He gave sports materials like football, jersey, shoe, anklet, gloves etc. to each team.

The CM assured that the Zap-8 Corps Complex ‘Lesliganj’ will be renovated. The government will take a concrete decision soon to solve the information received regarding the problems here.

Moreover, 3 new barracks with a capacity of 250 beds will be constructed at ZAP-8 Corps Complex, Lesliganj. The Chief Minister announced making available other arrangements including a tank for drinking water here. Apart from this, the boundary wall of the campus will also be made.

The government will soon take a positive decision on the subject of giving training allowance to the trainee constables.
