Ranchi, Dec 27: Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddiqui on Tuesday asked the officials to cooperate with the farmers and workshops should be organised at the district and block level to provide technical help to the farmers.

While addressing all the office bearers of Ranchi division in the state level Rabi Karmshala 2022 at Animal Husbandry Bhawan, Hesag, Siddiqui said that no one can ignore the agriculture sector, because agriculture contributes 20 percent to the country’s GDP.

“The aim of the department is to make the farmers of the state self-reliant by strengthening food livelihood and rural economy,” he said.

He told that the loan waiver of farmers has been done successfully. Along with this, complete transparency is increasing in seed distribution and efforts are being made to take schemes like Mukhya Mantri Pashudhan Yojana Smart Village and Krishak Pathshala to the farmers.

Agriculture Minister Badal said that they took many decisions in the difficult situation and the Chief Minister took care of the sentiments. He added that along with this, continuous efforts were made to create departmental coordination, due to which many positive results came out in the agriculture sector.

He said that every year the people of the state keep an eye on the Agriculture Department, so they have taken decisions in the interest of the farmers with full seriousness.

To make the concept of a Smart Village a reality, there is a need to make coordination with all the concerned departments. He asked the office bearers to cooperate with those farmers who are not able to reach the Pragya Kendra and are not getting the benefit of the scheme by taking cooperation from Kisan Mitra.

Talking about linking the deprived farmers with the schemes, he said that a list of such farmers should be prepared so that the benefits of the schemes could reach them.

“In 3 years of government, we are reaching 30 lakh farmer families of the state, this is a big achievement for us, but our target is to reach 5800000 farmers of the state and ensure the contribution of the farmers of the state up to 20% in the GDP of the state,” he said.

He said that more than five lakh new members have joined the cooperative, and monitoring should also be done to see how active the new members are in the cooperative.

He informed that Rs 461 crore has been allocated to all the districts under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme. The department is going to give its visiting card to the farmer so that he can be assured that the state government is with him.
