Dhanbad Dec 28: Indian Medical Association (IMA) national body has conferred Dr. Mritunjay Kumar Singh of Jharkhand with prestigious ‘IMA National President Appreciation’ award for his outstanding contribution to working medicos and health services.
IMA national president Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh presented this prestigious award to Dr. Mritunjay Kumar Singh on Tuesday evening during the three-day national convention ( December 26 to 28) under progress at Prayagraj.
IMA National President Appreciation’ award of IMA is considered high profile recognition ( honour) given to selected doctors across the country for their outstanding services.
Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh, presently posted at the state government remote hospital in Pakur district of Jharkhand, has been secretary of the IMA Jamshedpur branch for continuous 16 years till 2020. He has credit for successfully implementing IMA national body programmes during his regime while holding the post. He also led the agitation from the frontline whenever issues related to doctors of Jharkhand as well as the nation aroused.
Sources in IMA said that the Jharkhand state chapter of IMA had not recommended the name of Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh for the award. However, the national body s ected him at it own level and presented him during a three-day national convention on Tuesday evening.
The doctors of Ranchi, Bokaro, Deoghar, Dumka, Pakur, Sahebganj and Gooda have congratulated Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh and said that the National body has given an award to the right person of Jharkhand who always stands for support to doctors against injustice.
