Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dehradun following a car accident on December 30.

Pant’s car struck the divider and left the road at NH-58 in the early morning hours of Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district. It afterwards caught fire. The Indian athlete allegedly broke the window of his car to flee the scene, but he sustained serious injuries.

Pant is said to have been driving the car alone when the accident occurred while dozing off. His car struck the divider on the Narsan boundary of Roorkee, close to Hammadpur Jhal, when he was driving back from Delhi to Roorkee.

According to reports, Pant is currently not in danger and has been transferred from the intensive care unit to a private suite. Given the seriousness of the incident and the harm done to the wicket-keeper batter,
