Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Fog, mist and the partly cloudy sky would prevail in most parts of Jharkhand today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre. According to weathermen, a trough in easterlies runs from southeast Uttar Pradesh to west Vidarbha at 1.5 km above mean sea level. This was resulting in moisture incursion into the atmosphere.
Notably, Met Office statistics revealed that dense fog at isolated places over northern and south-eastern parts of the state prevailed during the past 24- hours. Several isolated places in the districts of Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar and Lohardagga experienced cold days.
According to statistics, the minimum reading fluctuated between 9 and 10 degree Celsius in places like Khunti, Deoghar, Simdega and the capital Ranchi. The minimum temperature hovered around 12-13 degree Celsius in places like Daltonganj Jamshedpur and several other parts of Kolhan in southern Jharkhand.
