Jamshedpur, Jan 23: East Singhbhum district administration is gearing up for the Republic Day celebrations at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on Thursday. Rehearsals are going on like every year.
However, this year rehearsals were held at Golmuri Police Line on January 21 and 22 due to the Tusu fair at Gopal Maidan whereas Monday’s rehearsals took place at Gopal Maidan.
Notably, On Tuesday, a full dress rehearsal in the presence of senior officials will take place at the Gopal Maidan.
The final rehearsal tomorrow will see the participation of JAP 6, District Armed Forces, NCC cadets and the band of St. Mary’s School.
Students from different schools, both private and state-owned, will also take part in the parade rehearsal tomorrow.
The state health minister, Banna Gupta who is also the local MLA, will unfurl the national tri-colour. Senior district administrative officials will also be present on the occasion.
“We will make sitting arrangements for guests and freedom fighters and their successors near the main dais for a better view of the flag hoisting and guard of honour,” said a senior official of East Singhbhum district administration.
There will be no-entry curbs for heavy vehicles from 6 am to 10 pm on January 26. Security measures would also be beefed up in view of Republic Day.
