Ranchi, Jan 24: The Ranchi University Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha on Tuesday said that he wants to see Ranchi Women’s College as an excellent university.
“I ask all of you, coordinators, to make a vision for the next five years for the progress of your department,” he added. He was addressing the vocational coordinators from various departments in the university.
Notably, an interactive session was organised by the Vice Chancellor with the professors, and coordinators of vocational departments at Ranchi Women’s College wherein many topics were discussed.
Directors and heads of many departments pointed out the shortage of teachers. On this, the VC said that the subject-wise list of shortage of teachers should be made available to the RU officials in writing. “We will also invite retired teachers who are experts in that subject for teaching. There will be no shortage of teachers,” he added.
Several departments of the college have laboratories that need servicing and face a shortage of lab technicians. In this regard, VC Sinha said that the labs of all the departments should be repaired. “We will appoint lab technicians here. Our priority is to fulfil the shortage of teachers rather than the shortage of buildings,” he added.
The VC further said that when the students come to the college, they are the responsibility of all professors.
“We all should not only be teachers but also be parents of children. We have to conduct ourselves and fulfil our responsibilities in such a way that the children do not feel the absence of guardians on the campus,” VC Sinha added.
Prof in charge Dr Supriya, Registrar Dr Mukund Chandra Mehta, DSW Dr G S Jha, OSD VC Dr Smriti Singh and heads of departments, teachers and coordinators of many departments of the Women’s College were present on the occasion.
