Ranchi, Jan 28: Air ambulance, helicopter and charter flight facilities have started from Birsa Munda Airport. This service has been started by Jhankar Aviation. It was inaugurated by Airport Director K L Agarwal on Friday.

“In the coming days, passengers will get many new facilities. For the first time, people will get this service from Birsa Munda Airport. Earlier, needy people used to reserve an air ambulance online which took a lot of time and also cost a lot of money. You can book an air ambulance for the same,” said the director.

He added that the facility of charter aircraft will be available for marriage and necessary work. From reaching the destination by helicopter, the facility of showering flowers will also be available in marriages and other events.

Moreover, a parallel taxi track will also be set up at the Birsa Munda Airport. With the help of this track, it will help in clearing the runway as soon as a flight lands at Ranchi airport. Due to this, flights will be able to land every two minutes.

The airport director further said that advanced CAT II approach lighting equipment will also be installed soon and for this, the DGCA has given its permission.

He added that it will take around one year to install the lighting and it will be set up approximately 900 metres from the end point of the runway. These lights will help the pilot in better visibility during foggy weather.
