Odisha Health Minister Naba Das succumbs to injuries hours after being shot

New Delhi, Jan 29: Naba Das, Odisha Health Minister who was shot by a police officer on Sunday succumbed to his injuries.

A police assistant sub-inspector shot Naba Kishore Das in the Jharsuguda district during an event. Das was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital right away for treatment. On Sunday, he passed away at the Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

As soon as Naba Das got out of his car at Gandhi Square, a police officer opened fire with at least four to five shots. The incident happened in the district’s Brajrajnagar town when the minister was travelling to a meeting. Locals apprehended the suspect, identified as ASI Gopal Das, and turned him over to the police.
