Ranchi, Jan. 30: The Assembly committee formed to investigate the number of locals who have got jobs in the private companies in view of the State government’s 75 percent reservation policy will begin its job with companies, including Adani Power in Godda and Deoghar.

Committee convenor Nalin Soren told Lagatar24.Com that the committee, in a meeting held today, decided to make a field visit to Godda and Deoghar for three days from February 10 to February 12 to verify the companies’ report on granting job to the locals. Adani Power is located in Godda district.

Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav, who had been opposing the Adnai power plant since the beginning, was the other member who attended the meeting. The other three members, Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Narayan Das and Bhushan Bara did not attend the meet. Sonu said he could not attend it as he was unwell.

Soren when asked whether the committee will follow the 1985 domicile policy adopted by the Raghubar Das government simply said that it will go by the notification on the domicile policy by the State’s personnel department. He refused to refer to the Das government’s policy issued in 2016.

Yadav had earlier clarified,” We don’t need a government definition of a local for our job. It is not a question of 1932 or 1985. We will see whether a company has given jobs to the residents of displaced villages or not. Whether the employees belong to the locality where a factory is situated or not. He or she should have a domicile certificate issued by the Jharkhand government. Moreover, whether the company has considered the caste equation of the area or not.”
