Ranchi, Feb.6: The issue of BJP Kanke MLA Samri Lal’s caste certificate refuses to die as Congress party’s former Kanke MLA Suresh Baitha challenged the single bench order filing a review petition.

The single bench on January 31 had allowed the petition of Lal challenging cancellation of his caste certificate by the State Scrutiny Committee.

Lal had knocked the door of the court after the said committee cancelled his caste certificate on April 1 saying Lal is a non-Jharkhandi and an outsider is not entitled for a caste certificate in Jharkhand.  With the cancellation of caste certificate, Lal’s legislature status was at stake as Lal had contested from an assembly constituency reserved for scheduled castes.

Now Baitha has challenged the same high court order by which Lal had got a relief.
