New Delhi, Feb 8: The International Cricket Council released the T20I All-Rounder Rankings on Wednesday, and India’s standout Hardik Pandya, who destroyed New Zealand’s top order in their series finale last week, is now within striking distance of the top spot.
After taking the new ball and earning 4/16 from four overs against New Zealand at Motera, Pandya moved ahead of Mohammad Nabi to take over second place in the T20I All-Rounder Rankings.
All-rounder Pandya has advanced in all three lists after grabbing four for 16 and smashing a 17-ball 30. He improved from 53rd to 50th among batsmen, 66th to 46th among bowlers, and second among all-rounders, trailing Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hassan by a few rating points.
After hammering a match-winning century against New Zealand in the third and final ODI in Ahmedabad, India opener Shubman Gill rocketed up to a career-best 30th spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
In addition to helping India win by a whopping 168 runs and end the series 2-1, Gill’s unbroken 126 off 63 balls propelled him up an astounding 168 slots. In all three formats of the game, Gill has now scored hundreds, and he is placed sixth in ODIs and 62nd in Tests.
After playing in just six T20Is, the 23-year-old Gill has shot up an astounding 168 spots, from outside the top 100, to equal-thirty.
Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is another one to move up the rankings, gaining eight slots to reach a career-best 13th position after finishing with two for 16 in Ahmedabad.
