PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Feb 13:  The minimum reading in most parts of the state is likely to witness a two to three-degree Celsius fall in the next 48 hours, predicted IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre on Monday.

Weathermen said Jharkhand is under a strong pressure gradient as winter is in transition mode.

Strong surface wind blowing at a speed of  20-30 Kmph is likely at isolated places in the north and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand during the next 48 hours.

Satellite pictures also found a trace of a Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand. The wind chart suggested that north-westerly to northerly wind was dominating over the state.

IMD’s Ranchi and Patna Met Centres predicted clear sky and dry weather in the next three days with a fall in minimum temperature by 2-3°C.
