New Delhi, Feb 17: A kidnapping complaint has been filed against five men who are allegedly cow vigilantes, one day after the burned bodies of two Muslim men were discovered in a car in Haryana. Nasir and Junaid’s burned remains were discovered inside a Mahindra Bolero SUV on Thursday morning in the Bhiwani area of Haryana.

“The burnt bodies of two unidentified men have been found in the car. To ascertain whether the two men are the same who were kidnapped, our team has gone to the spot with the family members. After post-mortem and DNA analyses, their identification will be verified,” Bharatpur Inspector General Gaurav Srivastava said.

According to sources, Nasir (25) and Junaid (35) both residents of Ghatmeeka village in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were kidnapped on Wednesday, their families said in a complaint. On Thursday morning, police found two burnt bodies in a vehicle. Police say that a DNA test will be conducted to identify the skeletons are of Nasir and Junaid.

Investigations are being conducted to determine whether the two died in the vehicle fire or were burned alive. The car was recognised by the relatives of the two abducted men, who also claimed that Nasir and Junaid knew the owner. According to the authorities, they are looking into whether cow vigilantism played a role in the fatalities.

Monu Manesar, Lokesh Singhia, Rinku Saini, Anil, and Srikant are the five men accused of abducting Nasir and Junaid. Member of the right-wing group Bajrang Dal is Monu Manesar. Allegedly, the five accused all identify as cow vigilantes.
