While the demonstrators started a dharna in the compound, the police station made extensive security precautions.
In Rupnagar district, Chamkaur Sahib resident Varinder Singh was allegedly kidnapped and beaten before a case was filed against self-styled preacher Singh and his friends.
Amritpal Singh allegedly threatened Union Home Minister Amit Shah lately, claiming that he will suffer the same fate as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
