RIMS expat alumni hold free health camp at Ranchi village

Ranchi, Feb. 24: Bablu Tigga (name changed), a 17-year-old from village Brambe finally found diagnosis to his symptoms of breathing problems and intermittent fever when he visited the free health camp organized at Brambe village a couple of days back.

Bablu and many others like Abid Ansari who suffered from BP, Sugar and other issues met the specialists and got their check-up done and received free medicines.

The Mukhiya of Brambe Panchayat, Anita Devi, and Cheriya Oraon who were suffering from gastric issues and pain in the body got themselves checked and got medicines.

Savita and Putul Tigga and others got themselves checked and treated were quite satisfied. “Bahar mein to paisa bhi le leta hai theek se dekhta bhi nahin hai,” they said.

Dr Dinesh Ranjan, Dr Ratna Ranjan and Dr Geeta Gupta checked the patients.

This camp was organized at the Chandrodaya farm, owned by late former Chief Secretary P P Sharma, by a group of RIMS expat alumni PRAN (Pravasi Alumni Nishulk). It is associated with Bihar-Jharkhand Association of N America. Late Sharma’s wife Aneeta Sharma and daughter Malavika Sharma were also present on the occasion.

About 100 plus patients received medicine and got their check-up done.

Their focus of the RIMS expat alumni PRAN (Pravasi Alumni Nishulk) is to bring world class international expertise to the grass roots level and help the masses.

They had a specialized medical van which had all the testing facilities including weight, blood test, BP, sugar, pulse. They provide screening for heart and kidney ailments.

During the Covid pandemic in April-May 2021, PRAN provided telehealth care for over 1000 patients across Jharkhand and Bihar using advanced Telehealth Care and provided for essential medical and food supplies.

They then decided to extend these services further and formed PRAB BJANA as an NGO in October 2021.

Subsequently they have catered to the health needs of 3000 people across Rural Jharkhand and Bihar – with Telehealth Care services and a state of the art Medivan.

Those participated and helped in the camp included Rooplekha Prasad  ,Ratna Prasad  , Ranjana Mallik dspmu, Poonam Pandey Doranda college and  Monideepa.

 

Follow up is also done with their EMR that helps in chronological tracking of individual patients.  Presently they are following 3000 patients. The group will revisit Brambe after one month for the follow up action.

They have already held camps at Bergama, Muri, Dungri,  Netarhat and Brambe.

In addition, the specialist doctors have been invited in different institutions including RIMS and Sarla Birla University symposium.
