Ranchi, Feb 25: Organised under the aegis of Jharkhand Adivasi Vikas Samiti, the Munda tribe of Jharkhand will take out a march for the inclusion of the Mundari language in the eighth schedule of the Indian Constitution and other demands. The march will be organized tomorrow from 11 am. It will start from Chutia and end at Bahu Bazar in the heart of the state capital.
The list of other demands includes naming Ranchi Railway Junction after Maharaja Madra Munda, writing the name of the railway station in Ranchi in Mundari script along with Hindi and English, and announcements at the same station in Mundari along with Hindi and English.
Among the other demands also include naming the entry gate of Ranchi Padam Shri Dr Ramdayal Munda Sanskritik Pravesh Dwar, making beautiful entrance and exit gates at Chutia (old name Chutiya Nagpur) and writing a welcome sentence in Mundari script on it.
Apart from this, the charter of demand includes the search and protection of cremation sites of Chutu Munda and Nagu Munda, the search and preservation of the remains of the palace of Chutiya Nagpur by carbon dating method, the search and protection of coins used by Munda kings in Tribal Research Institute, and preservation and storage of all records, gazetteers, letters, memoirs mentioning Chutiya Nagpur, besides establishment of a life-size statue of Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda at Siram Toli Chowk and installation of a life-size statue of N.E Horo at Annie Horo Road.
Members of Jharkhand Adivasi Vikas Samiti along with the office bearers and experts of the Munda community from different places will be present in the programme.
