Ranchi, Feb.27: An unidentified miscreant attacked a noted orthopaedic surgeon of Jharkhand, Dr Anchal Kumar, at his residence under the Sadar police station area in the morning. He sustained a head injury in the incident. He has been admitted to Medica Hospital for treatment.

Senior superintendent of police Kishore Kaushal confirmed the incident saying the miscreants escaped after the incident and we have started a probe into the matter with the CCTV footage available.

“So far no clue has been found in the matter. The reason behind the attack is also unclear,” SSP Kaushal said.

The SSP said that the miscreant apparently entered his housing using a pipe and was first noticed by the doctor at the terrace.

“As the doctor realised his presence and reached closer, he attacked at his head and escaped. Later his wife came for his rescue,” SSP said.

Dr Anchal runs Gulmohar Hospital which is exclusively for the treatment of bone.
