Dhanbad, Mar 4: The outsourcing sanitation employees on Saturday began a boycott of their work in the hospital of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College (SNMMCH) demanding a Holi bonus from their employer agency.
The agitating outsourcing employees said that their employer Commando Security Force agency had paid Rs 2000 as a Holi bonus last year. But this time agency has not paid to date while only three days have been left in the festival.
“Agency authority so far has given only assurance but looks not serious. So all agency’s sanitation employees have resolved to boycott the work till Holi bonus is paid,” said an employee who was leading the agitation.
Following the work boycott of sanitation employees medical waste and other reject had been piled up inwards of the hospital.
SNMMCH officials said that hospital management has nothing to do with the demand for sanitation employees as they work under a private agency. However, the hospital superintendent has asked the agency to arrange proper cleaning of all wards so that patients do not suffer.
In wake of the agitation and demonstration of sanitation employees, the local representative of the agency did not come to the medical college today.
