New Delhi, March 15: Virat Kohli’s moved up seven positions to take the 13th spot in the most current ICC rankings after his brilliant performance in the Ahmedabad Test of the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy.

Virat Kohli’s exploits with the bat in the Ahmedabad Test of the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy were rewarded as the Indian batter climbed up seven spots in the latest ICC Test batter’s rankings to be in the 13th spot.

James Anderson has fallen from the No. 1 position for Test bowlers, and Ravichandran Ashwin has reclaimed it.
During the Ahmedabad Test, Kohli produced a calm and contented performance of 186, ending a three-year wait for a Test hundred. The fourth Test finished in a tie, and India was able to go to the World Test Championship final thanks to the knock that kept them in the game.

Due to his performance in the Ahmedabad Test, Kohli has moved up seven spots and currently occupies the 13th slot in the list of Test bats. The only Indian hitters who are now ahead of the star batter are Rishabh Pant (ninth) and Rohit Sharma (10th).

Starting with the Nagpur Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Ashwin fought Anderson and Pat Cummins for the top slot for bowlers, briefly sharing it with the English pacer.

The seasoned Indian spinner shared the Player of the Series title with Ravindra Jadeja after taking 25 wickets in the series against Australia. Because to this, he is currently the only one holding the top place in the bowling rankings as of Wednesday. Axar Patel had a strong performance with the bat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scoring 264 runs to finish third among all scorers behind Usman Khawaja and Virat Kohli.

Axar moved up eight ranks to number 44 among hitters and one slot to number four among all-arounders as a result of this.
