Police arrest six persons in Jamshedpur civil court firing case

Jamshedpur, April 3: Six persons have been arrested in connection with the firing near the Jamshedpur civil court premises in Bhuiyadih under the Sitaramdera thana area on March 27.

Those arrested were identified as Vicky Singh Gill alias Kundi, Aman Kumar Singh alias Takla, Raj Paswan alias Kallu, Manish Kumar Rahelu, Vicky Tiwari and Goldi Singh.

The arrested persons were indulged in both the incidents of firing at the civil court premises gate as well at Tinplate Chowk under Golmuri thana back to back on the March 27 afternoon. The arrests were made on the basis of the CCTV footage collected from near both the civil court premises gate and the shops located at the Tinplate Chowk.

While arresting the accused, the police have seized three fire-arms and as many live cartridges beside five two-wheelers from those arrested.

Speaking at a press conference, City SP, K Vijay Shankar said that those arrested had come to kill Navin Kumar Singh who had allegedly murdered one Manpreet Singh a year ago.

“As Navin had come to attend a court date on March 27, the arrested persons had followed him and were waited for him to come out of gate No 3 of the civil court premises. At the sight Navin near the gate, two of the accused had fired shots which missed the target. Due to the police’s alertness, the attackers had to flee the spot. Later, the same accused had opened fire at Tinplate Chowk, intending to terrorise the shop-keepers for extortion of ransom,” said Vijay Shankar.
