Hazaribagh, April 6: A road accident wreaks havoc on the family of a well-known businessman of Chauparan, Vijay Sahu who lost four of his family members in a road accident, including his septuagenarian parents, 4-year-old son and a woman relative. Other injured family members are battling for their lives in Hazaribagh and Ranchi Hospitals. The accident took place on Wednesday evening near Urwan Mor in Chandwara of the Koderma district. Vijay’s father died on the spot while his son Devraj and mother succumbed to their injuries at Arogyam Hospital late at night.
The incident left everyone shocked as the family was well-known and very social in the area. About the incident, the police said the family was on their way to Koderma to attend a religious event of Gyatri Pariwar. Except for Vijay, all of his family were in the SUV including his parents, wife, son, daughter, elder brother and his wife, sister and brother-in-law. Near Urwan, a speeding trailer hit the SUV head-on. Due to this, the SUV was damaged completely and those sitting in the vehicle sustained major injuries. Hearing the screams, villagers rushed there and informed the police after which all injured were sent to the nearest hospital. Vijay’s father died on the spot. Later three more deaths were reported including his son and mother. One of his female relatives also died.
Hearing about this incident, a large number of people gathered at Vijay’s house and many reached Arogyam Hospital in Hazaribagh. MLA Jaiswal and former MLA Manoj Yadav also reached there and talked to the doctors about their condition. Seeing the critical condition of the three including Vijay’s wife, doctors referred them to Ranchi. All are currently admitted to the Paras Hospital.
