Ranchi, April 10: The installation ceremony of the newly elected Indian Medical Association (IMA), Ranchi chapter, office bearers of 2023-24 tenure would be held at IMA Building on April 12.
Newly elected president Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal and four other office bearers, including two vice-presidents, Dr Abhishek Ramadhin and Dr Jayashankar, secretary Dr Pankaj Bodra and treasurer Dr Amresh Kumar would take the charge.
The election of Ranchi IMA was held only for the post of president on March 26 in which former state secretary Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal defeated Dr Shambhu Prasad Singh by 163 votes. Dr Kajal got 468 votes against 305 for Dr Singh. Other four office bearers including two vice presidents, secretary and treasurer were elected unanimously.
Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal said we five office–bearers would take charge and later on the full committee comprising of joint secretary coordinator, convener and executive members would be formed on April 12. “Since Ranchi IMA chapter is the largest body in the state, having over 1500 doctors as members, so, considering all the factors, experienced old persons and new young medicos would be included in the committee to make balance,” he said.
The newly elected secretary said that doctors of Ranchi have high hope from the new committee and the committee would try its best to live up to the expectation. He ruled out that the election has created a sense of division among IMA members in the state capital and said that for the cause of medicos, all doctors are united and will fight unitedly.
The IMA Ranchi chapter’s newly elected office bearers said that all senior members of IMA would be present on the occasion. The installation ceremony would start at 7:30 pm
