Celsius continues to rise in Jharkhand, rain forecast next week

Jamshedpur, April 14: If the forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre is any indication the day temperature would continue to rise across Jharkhand in the next 48-hours.

“There will be no respite from the oppressive heat for the next two days atleast,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.

According to a bulletin issued by Ranchi Meteorological Centre light rain and thunderstorm activity is expected only next week.

Statistics suggested that out of 24 districts, 23 districts received no rainfall and one district received normal rainfall during the week.

Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24- hours. The highest maximum

temperature of  40.8°C was recorded at Daltonganj  while the lowest minimum temperature  of 17.9°C was recorded at Simdega. Jamshedpur, Chaibasa in West Singhbhum and Garhwa also recorded a maximum temperature of 40°C in the past 24- hours.

No significant synoptic features prevailed over Jharkhand and its neighbourhood today. Mainly dry weather would prevail over the state for the next two days.

Some places might also experience Loo, a dry and hot wind that blows during this time of the season.
