Ranchi, April 14: Maoist commander Indal Ganjhu carrying bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head surrendered before the Bihar police.
He had an encounter with security personnel on April 3 in Chatra in Jharkhand. He had escaped taking advantage of dense Lavalong forest and good geographical knowledge after the security personnel shot dead five of his friends in the encounter.
Ganjhu is a resident of Asrain village under Imamganj police station area of Gaya district of Bihar. He was holding the position of regional commander in his organization. It is being said that being afraid of strong police action he surrendered.
Information of Ganjhu’s surrender has come at the situation when extremists are observing two-day Jharkhand bandh saying that the Chatra encounter, in which their five friends were killed, was fake one.
