Dhanbad April 24: A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable identified as Ranjit Kumar was found lying on a track on Monday morning at Barmasia rail gate near the Dhanbad railway station with both legs amputated.
A passerby spotted him lying on the busy Howrah-New Delhi Grand Chord line of Dhanbad Rail Division around 1 km away from Dhanbad junction early in the morning. When they reached to rescue him, they found both legs of Ranjit Kumar was amputated. They immediately got him admitted to Dhanbad Divisional Hospital with the help of RPF personnel.
Dhanbad RPF Inspector Pankaj Kumar told media persons that circumstances suggest that Ranjit Kumar fell from a running train and lost his both legs in the incident. Since he was senseless, how the incident happened would be cleared only after his recovery. No one saw on which train he was travelling and when the incident happened.
“ He is a resident of Dhanbad district’s Barwadda area and is posted at Gaya Railway Station of Bihar. Since his condition is critical due to severe injury, doctors of the Divisional Railway Hospital have referred him to a super speciality hospital,” said Dhanbad RPF Inspector.
