Thiruvananthapuram, April 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi staged a roadshow as he landed in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on Tuesday. In order to greet the large crowd waiting along the roadside, the PM waved his hands.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Lok Sabha Member and Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor all welcomed the Prime Minister.

On his two-day visit to Kerala, PM Modi will launch several new development projects.

The state’s first Vande Bharat train between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod was launched off on Tuesday at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Kerala for a two-day visit.

The train will travel through Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargod, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

He spoke with several schoolchildren inside one of the train’s coaches before he signalled the Vande Bharat Express off from platform 1 of the railway station.

The young people displayed to Modi their drawings and paintings of him and the Vande Bharat train.

Additionally, hundreds of people gathered on the station on the opposite side to watch the PM flag off the train.

He will launch a number of other development projects, including the Kochi Water Metro service, from the Kerala Central Stadium here after flagging the train off.

At a ceremony to be held at the Central Stadium, he will lay the cornerstones for a number of projects, including the electrified Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad segment and the nation’s first Digital Science Park.
