Jamshedpur, May 3: South Eastern Railway’s Kolkata – based headquarters today notified stoppage of trains at Jharkhand’s Jamtara station on an experimental basis for a period of six months
According to a circular issued last evening 18181 Tatanagar-Thawe Express, the journey commencing today will arrive at Jamtara station at 2.34 am and will depart at 2.36 am.
The circular further stated that the 18182 Thawe-Tatanagar Express, journey commencing w.e.f May 3 will arrive at Jamtara station at 12.31 am and will depart at 12.33 am.
Railway officials said a couple of other trains would also soon halt at the Jamtara station for which notification would be issued.
According to officials the stoppage for the Thawe-Tatanagar Express was provided at the Jamtara station due to passengers demand.
Jamtara station assumes significance as it falls on the Jharkhand- Bengal border.
