Suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan brought from jail to ED office for questioning

Ranchi, May 7: Suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan has been brought from jail to ED Ranchi Zonal Office for questioning on Sunday where he will be interrogated by ED officials. The ED has arrested former DC Chhavi Ranjan of Ranchi, accused of corruption in the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army and other disputed lands. In this matter, Chhavi Ranjan will be interrogated for six days by ED. The court has approved it on Saturday. On Saturday, Chhavi Ranjan was presented before the court through video conferencing.

During this, it was requested by the ED that Chhavi Ranjan be allowed to be interrogated on remand for ten days. But the court allowed remand for only six days. Earlier on Friday, Chhavi Ranjan was arrested and presented before the Ranchi Civil Court, after which the court sent him to judicial custody.
