Ranchi, May 7: CID has arrested a cyber criminal who cheated through a fake banking app in Ranchi. Arrested criminal Ajay Kumar is originally from Gurgaon, Haryana. Police have recovered 03 mobiles, 02 laptops, 01 ATM and an Aadhaar card from him.
Significantly, CID had received information that cyber criminals are cheating account holders on a large scale through fake banking apps. The criminals were cheating by installing fake internet banking application in the name of KYC. After which case numbers 14 / 2023, 16 / 2023, 18 / 2023 and 25 / 2023 were registered in Cyber Police Station Crime Research Department.
In similar cases before this, 11 cyber criminals have been arrested by CID.
