IIT ISM Dhanbad: Unmanned aerial system training programme for  technocrats

Dhanbad, May 8: The Department of Electronics  Engineering, IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad will hold five days of ‘unmanned aerial system, sensors and communication’ training  ‘Bootcamp’ for technocrats from May 13 to May 17.

The training programme is an ambitious project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for the development of the unmanned aircraft system ( guidance, navigation and control).  The boot camp training program will provide the theory and hands-on experiments on Drone Electronics.

Prof. Abhishek Grover, one of the Coordinators of five days workshop, said that the training programme at IIT ISM  keeps significance for technocrats as drone robotics is quite an important subject to be learnt by our youngsters these days. The government is funding such workshops for capacity building for human resource development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (guidance, navigation, and control).

“The workshop will help technocrats to learn about the integration of electronics in practical systems, embedded systems and sensors as well as systems and mechanics related to drones,” said Prof Grover.

The programme would be organized in the Electronics Engineering Department of the New Academic Complex in which participants would be imparted training about drones and the basics of the aircraft system. Classification, UAV communication, sensors, data acquisition system of UAV, demonstration of drone assembling, hands–on aspects/changes of drone electronics and application of drone systems would be included as part of the training topics.

The organizers of IIT ISM  said that any B.Tech/ M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D/ Diploma Passout/ technocrats of the institution or other institutions can join this ambitious five days workshop.
