New Delhi, May 26: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing his intention to boycott the upcoming Niti Aayog meeting.

When “cooperative federalism is a joke,” Kejriwal questioned, what purpose does it serve to attend the Niti Aayog meeting?

“People are asking, if the PM doesn’t abide by the Supreme Court, then where will people go for justice? What’s the point of attending Nit Aayog meeting when cooperative federalism is a joke,” the Aam Aadmi Party chief wrote in the letter to PM Modi.

The Niti Aayog meeting, which is slated for May 27, will discuss a number of topics, including infrastructure development, women’s empowerment, skill development, and health, with the goal of making India a developed country by 2047.

All chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and a number of Union ministers make up the council, which is the top body of Niti Aayog.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, and Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of Bengal, have also stated that they will not be present at the meeting on May 27.
