No rain in past 48 hours, Celsius again crosses 40 degree Celsius at many places in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, June 3 : Jharkhand is heading for yet another spell of severe summer with day’s temperature crossing the oppressive 40 degree Celsius mark at many places during the past 24 hours.
Daltonganj, the Palamu headquarters considered the heat- chamber of the state, topped the Celsius chart with 43 degrees.
This was followed by Pakur which registered day’s reading of 42.8 degree Celsius, the second highest.
Deoghar recorded 42.6 degree Celsius while the local IMD observatory in Jamshedpur recorded 42 degree Celsius.
Garhwa recorded around 41.9 degree Celsius while several other places including Bokaro, Ramgarh, Simdega and Khunti recorded over 40 degree Celsius in past 24 hours.
“No significant synoptic condition prevails over the state. Only westerly to north-westerly wind prevails at lower level over the state. This will result in dry weather condition across Jharkhand, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.
However, weathermen said that there will not be much variations in maximum temperature.
Met statistics revealed that not a single district experienced rain during the last two days.
The discomfort index was also very high due to heat and humidity.
In it’s long term forecast the Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted light rain around next mid-week, June 7.
