Dhanbad, June 15: 16 newly elected office bearers, including president advocate Amrendra Sahay, vice-president Dhaneshwar Mahto and general secretary Jitendra Kumar of the Dhanbad Bar Association took the oath of secrecy and resolved to work under Model Rules of the association.
Earlier, the State Bar Council appointed election committee members comprising advocates Devi Sharan Sinha, Arun Kumar Tiwari and HC Maillick gave certificates to the winning candidates and thereafter oath ceremony was organized.
The Dhanbad Bar Association biennial election (2023-25) was held on June 8 in which the president and general secretary of the outgoing committee got re-elected. However, advocate Dhaneshwar Mahto became the new vice-president of the association.
Other winning candidates who took oath were joint secretary Brajkishore Karn (administration), Kedarnath Mahto (library), treasurer Meghnath Rawani and assistant treasurer Dipak Shah.
Besides these, nine governing Council members Anil Trivedi, Rajan Pal, Bharti Srivastava, Lalan Gupta, Rohit Kumar Verma, Vibhash Mahto, Poonam Kumari, Vijay Pandey and Vishwajit Mishra also took oath.
President Amrendra Sahay who has been elected for the second consecutive term said that his team would work for ensuring all possible facilities for lawyers and make Dhanbad Bar Association one of the best in the state. He said his team would also try providing special facilities to women lawyers.
General Secretary Jitendra Kumar said his priority would be to implement the promises he made during the poll campaign to members and restore all facilities in the interest of lawyers.
