Jamshedpur, June 16: Aiming at a speedy police verification process of passport applicants, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Ranchi is holding a joint workshop with the Kolhan range police at the conference hall on the Bistupur police station since Friday morning.
About 100 police officers of various ranks are attending the workshop where the RPO functionaries from Ranchi are providing their expertise on how to go about the method of passport verification work in a precise and speedy way.
Earlier, the Regional Passport Officer, Manita K briefed the media about how the passport verification is being carried out online through ‘m Passport’ police app and how to achieve an enhanced target by the same process keeping the applicants’ interest in view.

“Presently we are capable to process 100 applications for passports from Jamshedpur and 40 applications from West Singhbhum. It takes on average 15 days time for the police verification for the applications from Jamshedpur and 16 days for the applications from the West Singhbhum. But we intend to not only increase capability not only for a greater number of police verification but also getting the process done in a lesser number of days, ” said Manita while talking to the media at a press conference in the General Post Office-based passport office in Bistupur this morning.
While replying to queries, the regional passport officer claimed there would be no flaw in the police verification when it comes to speedy verification as the police department has a very effective mechanism for getting an applicant’s credential.
Several officials from the RPO, Ranchi and senior police officials from the twin districts of Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan attended the workshop.
