Jamshedpur, July 7: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of thundershowers in most parts of Jharkhand today.
Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of heavy rain at a few isolated areas today.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Kota, Raisen, Mandla, Ambikapur, Balasore and thence east-southeastwards to the east central Bay of Bengal.
The cyclonic circulation over north and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal was today lying over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha between 1.5 and 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards.
Light to moderate rain was experienced at a few places over the state. Monsoon activity was weak over the state, said weathermen.
According to Meteorological statistics, against a normal of 246.2 mm, the state has so far received 148.3 mm, a deficit of 40 per cent.
