9000 players to participate in Namo football tournament in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, July.8: Over 9000 players from 600 teams drawn from different blocks of the district will participate in the Namo football tournament in August.

Last year 8000 players of 550 teams had participated in the tournament, which has been  organised by Hazaribag sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal since year 2016.

Jaiswal who gifts Namo jersey to each and every player of the participating team this time ordered 10,000 Jersey. The order has been given to a local stitching centre owned by Vinita Dhawan who is wife of well-known businessman and social worker Shradhanand Singh. Total 36 women artisans working to make the jersey ready before the start of tournament anytime in August.

Jaiswal visited the centre today near Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir in New Area mohalla saw the quality of the jersey. He said quality is best similar to any reputed brand and in different colours.

Jaiswal said matches will be organised by national and international level referees. Even in inaugural and closing ceremonies, local talents get the opportunity to perform in cultural programmes. He said objective of the tournament is to provide a platform to rural football players so as to brush up their playing skills and techniques.
