Jamshedpur, July 12: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain at many places across the state in the next two days.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, the centre of the low-pressure area over northeast Rajasthan, Lucknow, Patna, Balurghat and thence eastwards to Manipur extending upto 3.1 Km above the mean sea level.
The state’s rain deficit still stood at 41 per cent. Against a normal of 285.6 mm, the state has so far received 167.5 mm, a deficit of 41 per cent
Weathermen also hinted at heavy rain at a few isolated places in northeastern parts of the state during the next two days.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was weak over the state. The highest rainfall recorded was 25 mm at Chatarpur (Palamu).
The highest maximum temperature of 36.9°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.2°C was recorded at Chaibasa.
