Daltonganj, July 28: Muharram processions on NH 75 and 98 would be deftly regulated so as not to cause any dislocation to traffic.

Stating this, SP Reeshma Ramesan said, “Traffic on NHs has to be on without any dislocation. The Muharram procession will be carted in such a fashion so as not to cause any inconvenience to the commuters.”

There is around 140 km of the two NHs, 75 and 98 combined, beginning at Satbarwa, with two ends, one each at Harihurganj and the other end close to the Garhwa border.

On the procession route licence, the SP said, “There has come a few instances where procession route licensee is dead and his son or some other male member has acquired the same procession route licence with due consent of the co-villagers. Police are vigilant in such cases and we believe there may not be any procession route issue.”

One sub-division of Palamu, Hussainabad, is the lone sub-division here where there is a huge chunk of the Shias.

Pujya Prakash, another IPS officer who till date is the SDPO Hussainabad, sitting in the chamber of the SP Palamu said, “Let me tell you all that Hussainabad subdivision is the second largest Shia populated place after Patna.”

The Muharram is to conclude at Haidernagar on July 30. Commenting on this, Reeshma Ramesan said, “This extended day for the conclusion of the Muharram reminds us of Hazaribag where Ramnavmi spills over the next  day.”

Describing the ongoing Muharram as incident-free the SP said, “It’s all peaceful but we are quite alert and vigilant. There is no room for complacency.”

She said there is no flash point as such in the district, nevertheless, our preparedness for a peaceful passage of the Muharram procession is examined situationally.
