Jamshedpur, Aug 3: A 35-year-old man Abhishek Mishra from Mango who was undergoing treatment for his gunshot injury for about the past two months in the RIMS died on Thursday morning.
Abhishek had sustained the gunshot injury while trying to assault a delivery boy along with his two neighbours, including a builder at the Sahara City in Mango on May 30.
Significantly, the builder Deepak Chaudhury had fired a shot targeting the delivery boy but as the latter ducked, the shot hit Abhishek who was standing nearby while helping out the builder in the assault.
The situation caused the builder to open fire on the delivery boy after the latter had passed an adverse comment at the builder over the cancellation of an order for something placed in Flipkart by his wife.
Having heard the comment, the builder shouted at the delivery boy and asked his neighbour to chase him. Abhishek and a youth intercepted the delivery boy near the exit of the residential colony. In the meantime, the furious builder reached the spot and fired a shot which missed the target and instead hit one of his men — Abhishek Mishra.
Abhishek was admitted to the MGM medical college hospital immediately and later shifted to the RIMS for better treatment.
A case was, however, registered with the Mango thana against three persons, including the builder and Abhishek on the basis of an FIR lodged by the delivery boy, leading the police to arrest two persons, including the erring builder.
Mango OC, Vinay Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com said “the two persons, including the builder who were arrested are still in jail. The case will now be converted into a murder case.”
