Jamshedpur, Sept 8: The low pressure and an associated cyclonic circulation which was hovering over the Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rain in several places of north-eastern Jharkhand.
Weathermen said the cyclonic circulation is also expected to result in heavy showers in isolated places of central Jharkhand today.
No alerts have been issued for tomorrow as the weather condition is expected to improve after the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Indore, Betul, Gondia, Raipur, Gopalpur and thence east-southeastwards to Westcentral Bay of Bengal extending up to 2.1 km above mean sea level.
The cyclonic circulation over south interior Odisha was today lying over central parts of interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh extending up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
Light to moderate rain was experienced in most places while heavy rain was also witnessed at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state and the highest rainfall recorded was 89.5 mm at Sahibganj as per Met records.
