Hangzhou, Oct 4: Jyothi Vennam Surekha and Pravin Ojas Deotale from India secured a gold medal in mixed team compound archery at the Hangzhou Asian Games by defeating South Korea’s Chaewon So and Jaehoon Joo in the final match on Wednesday.
The South Korean duo was defeated by Jyothi and Pravin by a narrow margin of 159-158.
India has won its first gold medal in archery at the current Asian Games. India has surpassed its prior best from Jakarta 2018 (70) with this medal. India currently has 71 medals.
